Doconomy Participates in Launch of Sweden's Climate Action Report
Sweden's Non-Negotiating Delegation to COP30 launched "Sweden – The Climate Matchmaker for Global Action" during Climate Week NYC. As a member of the official business delegation to COP30, Doconomy participated in the launch event at the Consulate General of Sweden in New York on Monday 21st September.
The report addresses a critical moment: as nations prepare to submit updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs, a country's plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate impacts) ahead of COP30, there's an urgent need to transform climate commitments into concrete action. The document provides sector-by-sector analysis of available solutions and enabling conditions to make these plans both actionable and investable.
"With a progressive commercial landscape and a blueprint report for positive change, Sweden is not only great at innovation export but also an enabler of targets met. An international climate matchmaker convening single efforts into powerful aligned efforts of planetary love" said Mathias Wikström, CEO & Co-Founder of Doconomy, who joined a panel discussion with Annika Otterstedt, Deputy Director at Sida; Monty Gould, Senior Sustainability Consultant at AFRY; Faustine Delasalle, CEO at Mission Possible Partnership; and Climate Ambassador Mattias Frumerie, after a keynote address by Sweden's Minister for Climate and the Environment Romina Pourmokhtari.
This report marks the first time a non-negotiating delegation has co-authored such a comprehensive document. Built on robust science and developed in collaboration with Sweden’s non-negotiating delegation, it brings together insights from leading Swedish companies like Doconomy, government agencies, research institutions, and civil society organisations. The collaborative approach delivers a clear message: solutions to limit warming to 1.5°C already exist.
The barriers to implementation are primarily policy-related rather than technological or financial. The report combines climate science with practical innovation, financial instruments, policy expertise, and capacity building to help countries strengthen and implement their NDCs.
As part of Sweden's business delegation to COP30, Doconomy contribute tools that enable banks to help customers understand and reduce their carbon footprint whilst improving their financial wellbeing.
The report is available now ahead of COP30, where Sweden's delegation will work to match global climate challenges with proven solutions.
