Doconomy signs with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. to collaborate on decarbonization platform Earth hacks

Stockholm-Tokyo, November 25th, 2021:

Japanese giant Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and marketing innovator Hakuhodo are working together to make the Japanese society carbon-neutral by 2050. As a part of this mission the co-creation platform Earth hacks is today launched. Together with Doconomyand its carbon labelling solution, the 2030 Calculator, Earth hacks, a co-creation platform for Gen Z-ers and others interested in decarbonization, aims to provide information on lifestyles and ethical products that they may want to adopt in their lives – based on the conviction that information and easy-to-use tools will help consumers to act in favor of a more sustainable way of living. The platform will in the beginning of 2022 launch an enterprise collaboration and media platform to introduce companies, people, and actions contributing to decarbonization to further accelerate the conversion.

“Joining hands with Mitsui and Hakuhodo in their mission to contribute to a carbon-neutral Japan by 2050 is an exciting responsibility. The climate crisis knows no geographical borders nor national boundaries. To mitigate the crisis partnerships like this will be crucial. Bringing Doconomy tools and initiatives together will create a variety of solutions – all aiming for a brighter future. It is with great pride we now put the 2030 Calculator to use in the Japanese toolbox”, Doconomy founder and CEO Mathias Wikström said.

With the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26, in Glasgow completed it is, once again, obvious that collaboration and partnerships are two absolute necessities to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Countries, corporations, governments, and people succeed together.

We are very excited about this partnership with Doconomy and the usage of 2030 Calculator to tackle the big challenge of carbon neutral. Through our involvement in this project and the usage of this platform, we want to support the change of mindset of the consumer which will further accelerate the change toward more sustainable and eco-friendly society, Kazunori Ikezawa, General Manager of New Business and Innovation Dept., Energy Solutions Business Unit said.
